A lot of outstanding music has been created in the most unlikely of places. However, it's still hard to believe that DJ Magazine's 2007 Album of the Year winner wrote and produced his seminal '2fiveonine' work in the cramped twenty four hour darkness of a north Glasgow loft space.

Acclaimed Glaswegian producer Marco Bernardi has made a name for himself through his association with the pioneering Rotterdam label Clone. His releases on the affiliated Frustrated Funk, Frantic Flowers and DUB labels have cemented his credentials as part of the new breed of electro-tech manipulators. Prior to working with Clone he released on Tom Churchill’s Emoticon imprint, and Jason Brunton's Iridite label.

You could be forgiven for confusing Marco's dedication to his art as borderline OCD, but it's his passion for music and incredible attention to detail that makes him such a unique individual. If sleeping wasn't a requirement, he'd probably be in front of his mixing desk 24/7/365.

Whilst he may be best known for the jacking electro he normally produces under his own name, his most recent output (as Octogen) on the Soma label is more melodic and techno orientated.

Marco is also a highly experienced studio engineer, both collaborating with and remixing for a number of other established artists.
