Some late breaking news here at Antimatter - Craig Brown aka Satellite Dub has just been announced as the winner of STV's exclusive band competition.
Craig was chosen as clear winner out of the 350 entries thanks to his cutting edge sound. And the prize....?? a well deserved support slot for Digitalism at Edinburgh's Liquid Rooms venue. You can read all about it at the STV website.
So to see what the fuss is all about, and to get a sneaky listen to Satellite Dub's forthcoming Magnolia Lane EP, get yourself along to the Liquid Rooms this Saturday night coming (23/08/08). Tickets available in advance here.
As we head towards the half way point in the summer hiatus, it's a good time to get you up to date on with all the festival happenings in the weeks ahead.
This weekend coming sees Fraser Rowan (The Lava Experiments) take to the stage at the Wickerman Festival to play guitar for Rubens. So, if you're down at Wickerman on July 26th, make sure you check them out.
August 30th sees a double header for two Antimatter artists at the boutique sister festivals Connect (Inveraray), and Electric Picnic (Stradbally). So, should you find yourself up north at Connect you can catch Conor Mason play at the Your Sound stage, or if that weekend sees you in the south of Ireland then head to the chill stage to catch Cinephile play their first live date of the year. Neither are to be missed....so get yourself along to at least one !
Today sees The Lava Experiments release volume one of their long awaited Blackbody trilogy. The five track EP features such tracks as 'Electric Garden', 'Beautiful Crystal Hall', and the epic 'Wake Up'. Full info and purchasing options for this release can be found in The Lava Experiments shop page.
You can find out more about The Lava Experiments in their artist profile.
Cinephile's 'Comatose' has just been licensed for use in the trailer for the forthcoming Samuel L Jackson thriller 'Lakeview Terrace'.
The trailer can be viewed at the Sony Pictures website. Watch it here.
There's been a flurry of activity here at Antimatter HQ. First up, we're very pleased to welcome on board the London based band Reverse E. In a day and age when sounding individual seems like a thing of the past, this is a band who are firmly out there on their own. Watch out for their forthcoming album release titled 'Bio Illogical Weh Woh'. Check out the Reverse E profile for more info.
One of our very first label signings, The Lava Experiments, will release part one of their 'Blackbody' trilogy this May 19th. The first EP features five epic memorable tracks. We're already looking forward to hearing part two !
Another new addition to the roster is Mr Craig Brown aka Satellite Dub. Apart from being the nicest man on the planet, Craig also produces his own brand of particularly trippy, and sometimes thunderous, melodic electronica. Stay on this channel for his excellent forthcoming EP titled 'Magnolia Lane'.
